Spring teaching opportunities? Picking a decent TEFL program?

Hey there, I'm an American student who did a stage as a teaching assistant (through my study abroad program) to a native-French English teacher at a collège. I'm planning on moving to Paris this january, and I'm wondering if any of you have suggestions as to possible teaching positions that might be open in the Paris area this spring. Maybe in terms of language instruction schools that are hiring, or need replacements for say, teachers/assistants/employees who leave early? I would have loved to do the French assistantship program, but missed the deadline to apply last year so now I'm looking for something this spring. Any advice or resources to look further into this would be great! Mainly looking to build up experience and some extra funds.

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of the best/most 'accredited' TEFL program(s)? Each time I start looking into TEFL, it seems like I find so many programs/sites/companies that I'm not sure how to eliminate the ones that aren't worthwhile or legitimate. The cheaper ones, the more expensive ones...there was even a 4 weekend course not too far from where I live right now, but the tuition was well over a grand! Sorry if this is a novice question, just would appreciate a little direction.

Merci!
